Hi,
The end of the season is nearly upon us and with temperatures on the rise, many of you have been enjoying the pool under the stars. As each year, we will be closed during the summer break but this year, for the first time, we can continue to get together regularly thanks to the naturist zone in the Bois de Vincennes.
Events in June:
We kicked off the month of June with a new swimming competition at Roger Le Gall pool, with our usual fun atmosphere.
On Saturday 9th, many of us attended the Festival of Living Naked, organised by Imaginat at Point Éphémère on the Saint Martin Canal.
Also on the weekend of the 9th, a group of members headed to London and Brighton for the World Naked Bike Ride.
On the 14th, there was a bowling tournament at Ozoir la Ferrière.
On June 19th, O’Naturel welcomed us for another one of their dinner dances.
On Sunday June 24th, 950 people came to the inaugural Parisian Naturist Day. The huge effort of Cédric, Béatrice and Stéphane, the participants’ enthusiasm and the great atmosphere guaranteed the day’s success and we hope to repeat it annually on the last Sunday of June.
The magazine La Vie au Soleil came to the pool on Monday 25th to hand out its initiation into naturism kits to a group of new naturists. As I announced in June’s Nudesletter, the press was at this unique event to show just how dynamic the naturist movement is today, which will certainly attract people to give it a go. A big thank you goes to those who took the plunge with this dissolvable swimsuit, which came apart under water, and also to our members who so warmly welcomed these newbies. I hope to see them all again soon at the pool.
During the last week of June, we flung our doors wide open, with three free sessions, which attracted a massive amount of visitors. It was a pleasure to meet so many new people and to catch up with some old friends, all of whom I hope to see regularly at the pool.
Upcoming events:
July starts with a totally unique event on Sunday 1st: a naked day at Aventure Land attraction park! It’s the FFN (French Federation of Naturism) who is behind this one-off outing, open to all…and free!
On Sunday 8th, we’re organising a day at the Creil Sun Club, with a communal picnic under the trees at midday, followed by an afternoon of archery.
On Sunday 15th, we’re organising yet another picnic in the naturist zone in the Bois de Vincennes, from 11:30am till 5:30pm, starting with a yoga session.
On Sunday 22nd, we’ll be at the Essonne Sun Club. Come along with your dishes and drinks to share. There’s a big wood fired BBQ for meat fans.
We’ll be yet again in the naturist zone in the Bois de Vincennes for a picnic on Sunday 29th.
You can register for these events by sending us an email, or at the welcome desk of the pool. For more information on our outings, please take a look at the events page on our website.
Monthly drinks:.For the last drinks of the season, which will take place on Friday July 6th, the theme is the taste of summer, so bring your sweet of savoury dishes with fruit and vegetables of the season.
Annual closure: Like every year, we don’t have our usual sessions at the pool during the summer holidays. Our last session will be on Friday July 6th.
The gym will remain open throughout the month of July but only for members. If you wish to come to the gym but aren’t up to date with your membership, please renew now. Note the opening hours: Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9pm till 11pm.
During August, there will be no activity at Roger Le Gall pool. Please come to our various outings and to the Bois de Vincennes, where we will be in large numbers throughout the month.
At the end of August, the pool will close for a whole month to be emptied, during which time the seals will be replaced, a rather big job which has been anticipated for a while now. We will reopen on Monday September 24th.
Burning Man – Naturism – Gymnasium: Burning Man is an event which takes place every year at the end of August in the Nevada desert and attracts over 70,000 people from around the world. The temporary town of Black Rock City is organised around multiple themed camps. This year, for the fourth time, the “Gymnasium” naturist camp will be set up. The concept, created by Kyrill Tokarev, is a reference to the ancient Greek gymnasiums where naked athletes practised all sorts of activities – running, wrestling…and even philosophy.
Today, the group is looking for more participants. You can find more information here: https://sites.google.com/view/gymnasiumburningman/
